A scholar’s mind. A human connection.Meet Dr.
Kamilah Woodson.
A psychologist by training.
A connector by nature.
An innovator by purpose.
Dr. Woodson brings the depth of a scholar and the warmth of a clinician to the conversations that shape our lives. A tenured Full Professor at Howard University, her work lives at the intersection of psychology, culture and human connection.
From understanding friendship among women of color to exploring global colorism, her research asks a deeply human question: how do we understand ourselves, connect with one another and heal?
Across approximately three decades of clinical practice, she has also guided leaders, supported academic development and helped train the next generation of psychologists. Her leadership includes service as Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Studies, Department Chair, and Director of Training of an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program.
